How to find inspiration and come up with new content ideas?

It’s often a struggle to find the content to post.

Especially if you’re posting every day and you want your audience to enjoy your content.

I know that for me, it’s isn’t always easy.

One of the things I know I don’t do enough is plan my content ahead of time.

Planning your content

Even though this is something I don’t do enough of, it is something I’ve done in the past and it’s really helped me.

I probably should start doing it more again.

Basically, it’s the idea that you have chosen the content you will create in advance.

For example, I did 5 episodes on the Perfect Webinar framework.

That was an easy one to plan because there were 3 parts (intro, content and close) so I could do each part on each day then I also introduced the thing and showed how I used it.

It’s not always that easy

What about on the days you have no inspiration?

Those days are the days you need to have a list planed ahead.

But, if you don’t have a list you can always just do a Google search.

First things first though…

So, how do you make it easier for figure out your topics to create your content with?

What is your audience interested in?

You might forget that it’s all about your audience.

Then again, we sometimes forget who our audience is.

It’s even possible we don’t know who they are, right?

But you don’t need to know, you can’t really know anyways!

This is why it’s more about deciding who your audience is.

You can’t determine who you audience is, you have to just decide who they are.

What does that mean?

Figuring out your audience

So, how do you actually figure out your audience?

You can’t really “figure out” your audience.

By defining you audience, it becomes much easier to find content for them.

The big secret is that you just make the decision of who they are.

It’s never about figuring out who your audience is because, well, that’s impossible because you can never be 100% sure.

So, the secret is you just need to decide who they are.

Once you’ve decided who you audience is, you can then decide, yes, also decide what they are interested in.

Sure, you can do some research and make a better decision, but it’s really about deciding.

Figuring out what your audience is interested in

Just like figuring out who your audience is really isn’t what you want to do, you can’t figure out what they’re interested in very well either.

You basically just need to choose or decide what they’re interested in yourself.

The idea is that whatever you decide they are interested in is the content you create.

For example, if you’re into weight loss, you could create content about a dozen things, like eating habits, exercise routines, sleeping schedules, meditation and so much more.

Figuring out your content to post

Now this part is actually true, you need to figure this out.

I guess it’s similar to just making the decision as to what you post but at least you have lots of options here.

One of the best ways to come up with content ideas is to just do a Google search you think your audience would do.

This will give you a bunch of results to give you ideas.

Even better though is to look for blog posts with “top 10” or “the 6 most” or “the 20 best” list type of posts.

When is repeating not the same?

One last tip I will leave you with is this: re-post past topics

You might be thinking that you already posted the topic and you want new content always but it is new.

There’s a few reasons why this is okay.

First, your content you posted 2 months ago or 2 years ago has changed – your interpretation of it has changed – your knowledge of it has changed.

Second, your audience members are constantly changing. Someone who say your post from 2 years ago might not remember it anyways but the new member probably hasn’t seen it.

Conclusion

In truth, the absolute best way to come up with content to post daily is to not do what I do.

Don’t wing it lol!

Plan your content ahead – do simple Google searches and write up a list of what you’ll be posting in the next week or month.

You can always improvise once in a while and inject content between those.
