What is best way to promote on Social Media?
If you’re building a business online you need to know what is best way to promote on Social Media!
It’s funny how people just don’t understand that building on social media is not any different than in “real life”
But, they send you spam and don’t care about you unless you click their link.
How it was in the olden days
You probably know exactly how things were when your father’s grandfather was around.
I mean 100 to 200 years ago, how did they build businesses?
And why do you care about how it used to be?
I mean, today is today – doesn’t matter how is was, right?
Well… maybe – maybe not – I’ll let you be the judge.
But back in the day, it used to be all about people who lived in your town.
There wasn’t much building businesses in multiple towns, that was for the charlatans and oil salemen.
People in a town would meet every week at church and every month at town hall or the dance.
The crazy thing is, I bet you know exactly why one person was liked over another, right?
It’s the one that showed interest in others and asked them questions about them.
Translating that to social media
You might wonder how to get the same type of connections and relationships on social media.
I mean, back then, if you tried to ask everyone in church if they want to start a business with you, or buy your oil, it wouldn’t be long before you got a reputation – and not the good kind.
If you were new in town, it would take a while for people to warm up to you.
You’d have to prouve yourself to them, right?
It’s the same on social media.
Create groups, start conversations with people – ask them about them.
Be interested in them – no one will be interested in you or your stuff until you show interest in them.
Why do people do it?
That’s the question, isn’t it?
Why do people send spam to everyone if they wouldn’t do it at church or in a town meeting?
Obviously, I can’t know for everyone, but my guess is that we feel that we are anonymous and that each person we talk to doesn’t know about the previous conversation with others, so we don’t care if they don’t like it.
It’s human nature to worry about what others think – if there are no others, we tend to be more likely to do things other don’t like since we think they’ll never know.
Plus, network marketing and online marketers tell us it just a numbers game.
To get more sales, just talk to more people… right?
Well, that’s too simple, there’s a piece of the puzzle that is missing from that statement.
Let’s look at the numbers
What if I told you that you could get 10x to 50x more sales per month if you spent more time getting to know people first.
Crazy right?
Let’s look at how that’s possible.
These are just estimates, but if you ask any leader they can confirm they are very likely.
If just send your link to people, you are likely to get about 1 sale for 10,000 people who you send your link to.
What if I told you it’s possible to get 1 sale for every 10 people you talk to or even more, would you believe it?
I talk more about this in the video, so check it out but it ends up looking like this:
Connection type | spam link | build relationship |
Time to send message | 10 seconds | 15 minutes |
Messages per day | 1000 | 10 |
Time spent per day | 2.7 hours | 2.5 hours |
link clicks | 1 | 9 |
interested | 0.1 | 5 |
sales per day | 0.01 | 2 |
sales per 100 days | 1 | 200 |
Which do you like better?
Conclusion
Send a personalized message.
Look at their profile, find something they are interested in and ask them questions.
Be relatable though – don’t just ask questions – tell them about yourself in relationship to them

Don’t forget to share with your online friends – they want to know this too.
