How to decide what to teach in your course?
If you’re not sure what to teach in your online course, I can certainly help you figure that out.
It’s not always easy when we start thinking about what others are doing online.
We see these so called “gurus” that say they are making tons of money online and we figure we need to be doing what they are doing.
But, what if we have no clue how to teach what they teach?
How did I figure it out?
Before I give you the secrets, let me tell you a little about me.
I’m pretty much a computer nerd.
I’ve been in computers since I was 16… and working as a programmer since 1996.
I even founded a company in 1998 that went all the way to a $20 million valuation until it was shutdown because of the dotcom bust in 2001.
Along the way, I discovered network marketing and loved the idea of building a team of people who would would promote and paying them instead of traditional advertising
Unfortunately, I never got good results so I started looking online for ways to build my network marketing company online.
That’s how I ended up in Personal Branding, Attraction Marketing and online courses
So, that’s what I teach – what I learned in the last 5 years.
How do you know what to teach?
It should come as no surprise that you need to find something you are passionate about… something you’re an expert on and teach that.
The problem most people have is that they aren’t sure if what they can teach is of value to others or if they know how to teach it.
Just take my word for it, anything you know how to do well is of value to someone who needs to learn it.
What you need to remember is that some subjects are more in demand than others.
You need to find a balance between “too much competition” and “not enough potential clients”
How to start
What if you have a bunch of ideas?
How do you know which one to start with?
Well, can I be honest with you?
Ok great..
Personally, I struggle with that too… but what I discovered along the way is that there is so much more I needed to learn that I really wish I didn’t waste time on choosing a topic.
Basically, what I’m telling you is to just pick a topic and go with it.
In the end, you’ll learn everything else you need to know about course creation, hosting platforms, payment gateway, video recording and editing as well as marketing, social media strategies and so much more.
How do I help?
