10 Best Kept Secrets to finding YOUR PERFECT prospect

Have you ever noticed how leaders talk about where to find your ideal prospect?

What if you could find your perfect prospect, not just your ideal prospect?

What’s the difference? Well, your perfect prospect is the one that’s more than ideal, they buy from you!

But how can you find these perfect prospects, those that will buy from you?

How can you find perfect prospects?

If you’re thinking it’s impossible to find the prospects that will actually buy from you, it’s because you haven’t thought about what “finding” actually means.

When I say “find” your perfect prospect, I don’t actually mean going around and finding them.

Here’s something that might help you understand my meaning.

People are automatically attracted to what they see often (like notifications) and they automatically grow to like, love and trust those who do things for them that they want (like comment on their posts)!

Finding really means nurturing them

In truth you don’t really want to spend any time looking for perfect prospect, you just want them to find you.

The only way they will find you is if you follow these 10 secrets I outline here.

Before going through all these in detail keep in mind it is a lot of work to get to the point where perfect prospects just magically come to you so make sure you have a vision of why you are willing to do this so you follow through.

The 10 secrets to finding your perfect prospects:

  1. Know your avatar.
  2. Know your offer.
  3. Prepare your profile.
  4. Post with a mission.
  5. Reply to comments.
  6. Join the right groups.
  7. Find the most active users.
  8. Visit their profiles.
  9. Engage on their posts.
  10. Be consistent and persistent.

I’m sure you feel like you’re seen this list, or a very similar one before but keep reading because I know you’ll learn something new from it!

Secret 1: Know your Avatar

If you don’t already know, your avatar is the description of your best prospect as if they were standing in front of you in all the details you can think of.

If you don’t define your avatar, how will you know who you are creating content for?

I’ve talked about this topic so many times and I’m sure you’ve heard it all before so I won’t spend much time here.

Secret 2: Know your Offer

Probably the biggest mistake we make when we start building a business online is think our product is our offer.

Nothing could be furthest from the truth and if you think that way, you’re not going to get very far.

Let me explain…

An offer is not your product or service but rather what your client will get from buying it.

Think of someone buying a drill – the product is the drill but that’s not really what they want.

They want a hole in their wall – or the feeling they get from doing it themselves – or even better the happiness of their spouse for finally putting up that mirror on the wall!

Again, I’m not going to go too deep into this but without clearly knowing your offer, your messages won’t really reach your prospects.

Secret 3: Prepare your Profile

The next most important thing is making sure your profile is optimized for attracting your perfect prospects to you.

That means you want to make sure they know who your are and what you’re about if they ever decide to visit your profile.

What we’ll show you next will illuminate why this is so important.

Secret 4: Post with a mission!

Once you are clear on who your avatar and what your offer is and you’ve setup your profile to win, you are ready to start posting.

Of course, if you’re like me, you started posting a long time ago before doing any of this so I’m glad you’re here now so we can clarify what I mean by posting with a mission.

If you are clear on who your avatar is, then you are clear on who your posts are for!

Also, knowing what your offer is will enable you to create posts that talk about that too.

Every post from now on needs to be about your perfect prospect learning to know who you are, what your offer is about and how they can benefit from it.

Of course, I don’t mean every post should be about all that, what I mean is your posts should be about one of those things so over time, they cover all that.

Secret 5: Reply to comments

Now that you’re posting regularly, say 2 to 10 times a week, people will start to comment on your posts.

I don’t know if I’d say this is the most important thing, but it’s up there mainly because the social platforms will reward you if you do this but also because your prospects will appreciate it.

You must be replying to all comments on your posts!

When you do, the following happens:

  • The person who commented feels heard and likes you more.
  • Facebook sees you are active and rewards you by sharing more of your posts.
  • Other people see that you are active and your posts get more engagement.

If you don’t reply to comments, pretty much the opposite happens.

Secret 6: Join the right groups

Pretty much every leader that teaches how to grow a business on Facebook will tell you to join groups.

They’ll tell you to comment on posts, answer questions and generally become to person every one in the group notices.

That’s all fine and dandy but what if it’s in the wrong groups?

More than that, how do you even know if it’s the right group?

Well, unfortunately, it’s not possible to be 100% if the group is right but here’s a few things you can do to improve your odds.

Find groups your avatar would be interested in – not about your product – for example, you might be selling a weight loss product which is definitely an interest to look for (loosing weight) but ask yourself why they want to loose weight – maybe it’s about spending time with their grandkids (so look for groups about spending time with grandkids) or having more energy of sleeping better.

You get the idea, right?

Secret 7: Find the most active users

Now, this is an interesting secret.

I discovered it when I realized that becoming friends on Facebook wasn’t even needed to engage with people on Facebook.

Sure, you could use the “become friends” tactic which allows you to engage on their posts but what about all the people who post publicly and don’t respond to friend requests?

Yeah, that’s a lot of people and pretty much impossible to manage that (that’s why Facebook uses friend lists)

So I thought, why not check who is actually posting and commenting in the groups I care about and figure out who’s posting and commenting the most?

Secret 8: Visit their profiles

On it’s own, visiting people’s profiles has a power to it.

Mainly because Facebook will show you the posts from the same 20-40 people all the time in your feed.

When you visit someone’s profile directly, you can see if they are actually active and posting regularly or not.

Depending on what you find, in terms of content too, you can quickly tell if they are your target market or not.

That’s when you can see if they might ever become one of your perfect prospects.

Secret 9: Engage on their posts

Don’t take this secret on it’s own, go back to secret 7 and 8 because those are the people’s posts we want to engage on, not random posts in the feed or in groups.

Once you have the list of the people who are actually active in the groups you care about and you know if they are active or not, you’re hitting the gold.

Whether you do it yourself by tracking it all in a spreadsheet, a word document or let Active Group Users software do it for you, the idea is that they will see you in their notifications.

As you surely know, sales is all about exposures and marketing research shows that people automatically grow to know, like and trust you with multiple exposures.

Secret 10: Be consistent and persistent

Probably the most important secret is this one.

The only way to truly win with online marketing is to be consistent and persistent.

If you are the person who your ideal prospect sees regularly without fail in their notifications and their news feed, they will, without a doubt, become a perfect prospect.

They will eventually make that buying decision after seeing one of your offers that really resonate with them.

The name of the game is patience though – none of that get rich quick crap, it takes time to build relationships online, even more today that just 5 years ago.
